The ELK-9100 ULTRAMATE is a remote controlled heavy duty switch which may be used with 220/240 Volts A.C. electrical appliances, water heaters, pool pumps, or 110/120 branch lighting loads. It can be activated by an X-10 power line signal or contact closure source. The unit features built-in signal bridging across both legs of the 220/240 power circuit for improved performance of X-10 powerline signaling. It also features a selectable repeater function to provide more reliable X-10 communications over longer distances. It is ideal for general purpose switching of high current loads such as electric hot water heaters, baseboard heaters, water pumps, air conditioners, etc. I used this unit for about two years to control my electric water heater and it worked just fine. I've switched over the natural gas and so have no more need for it. These heavy duty switches retailed for over $140 new and were discounted to about $110. They have since been replaced by a new model that handles other signals besides X10. If you need to control a lot of current, this is the switch to have, and it also acts as a signal bridge. PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING! The unit was working when I took it out of service this spring, but since I now have no way of testing it I am selling it AS IS with no warranty or returns. Included is the switch and the electrical junction box which is needed for some installations like water heaters.
